PRE-AP African Short Story Unit
While still discussing the danger of a singe story, the African Short Story Unit focuses on basic elements of narration (plot, characterization, setting), furthers our understanding of tone and diction, and explores irony and symbolism -- all terms that we will continue to identify and examine through out the school year. This unit of study focuses on the IB-MYP key concept of communication as we discuss the global context of orientation of time and space. Inquiry questions we will explore during this unit are as follows: What is community? How should communities with different values resolve disagreements and conflicts when they come into contact with one another?
*** Since I use some of my files year to year, all documents may not have the correct due date. Please consult lesson plans, original handout from class, or edmodo for corrected due dates.
